After the success of our first two-day scientific writing course at the College
of Medical and Dental Sciences,
we’ve already been called back for four repeat bookings. Focusing on writing journal articles, theses and funding proposals, most of the courses have been run for post-doctoral researchers and all have prompted excellent feedback.
The objective of the courses was to lift researchers’ standards to ensure that their professors did not have to spend hours tutoring individual staff to improve their chances of being published or capturing new funding.
“Dynamic, fresh and high energy” was how one professor described Scriptoria’s style, adding that it had even taught him how to improve his own teaching style.
