Recent Projects

SCRIPTORIA writes and rewrites many documents each year.
This page outlines some of the work we have produced over the last few months.

Examples of recent writing projects that have not yet appeared in
print include:

  • Six 3,000-word Country Briefings on irrigation and poverty alleviation. Each of these high-profile briefings was based on a highly technical 12,000-word research report written by a non-native English speaker
  • A 3,000-word flagship essay for an Annual Report.

This easy-to-read essay was distilled from a 35,000-word research report.
  • A 3,000-word policy briefing on groundwater - including a section for use as a press release - based on four technical source documents. The source material for this project comprised more than 35,000 words in total.

SCRIPTORIA's recent rewriting projects include:

The restructuring and rewriting of a series of six policy briefings to heighten their impact. SCRIPTORIA devised an appropriate structure and format for the briefings in the series. Once this was approved by the client, we radically rewrote each piece. We also wrote and added summary paragraphs and bulleted lists of key points to give each briefing more 'punch'.

Subject areas included:

  • HIV/AIDS
  • gender issues
  • capacity building
  • governance, and
  • markets

The rewriting of a policy briefing on agricultural research capacity in Africa.

The rewriting of a policy briefing on food and nutrition security.
